Have you ever written a story or essay for school? You turn it in and think you're done. Then the teacher hands it back with all kinds of marks, and you have to work on it all over again!
That's writing - always. The reason I bring it up is I'm currently rewriting Snowcap Mountain Adventures: Opening Day! I got some great comments on it from an editor named Aubrey Poole. Editors are a little like teachers for professional writers. They can help writers make their work even better.
An awesome book is the ultimate goal, of course. So I don't mind a bit if it takes some more work!
